Anusha’s sister ends her life

Visakhapatnam, Feb. 9: Unable to handle the gruesome murders of her parents and the ensuing scandal, a 16-year-old student committed suicide on Wednesday by jumping off the roof of a corporate college.

Prasanna’s death comes after her parents, Narla Srinivasa Rao and Satyavathy, were hacked to death in 2009 by one M. Rajesh who was stalking her sister, Anusha. Rajesh was jailed for life earlier this month.

According to the Fourth Town circle inspector, Mr K. Srinivasa Rao, Prasanna’s friends said she had made a phone call from an STD booth during the lunch hour. A little later, she went to the fourth floor of her college building and jumped off. She was rushed to a corporate hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Prasanna was doing her first year Intermediate.

A suicide note found in Prasanna’s diary in her hostel room she said that she was upset about the murder of her parents. She also wrote that since her eye operation, she had not been able to concentrate on her studies. No one was responsible for her death, she wrote.

Mr Srinivasa Rao said “We are now tracing the call to find whom she made her last call to before jumping from the college building.”

Prasanna’s sister Anusha, who was brought to the hospital by the college management, told reporters that Prasanna had never been happy since the death of her parents.
