Hyderabad, Dec. 10: The Chief Minister said merely announcing in the Assembly that cases against students and youth who resorted to violence during the pro-and anti-Telangana agitations would be withdrawn would serve no purpose as the government’s decisions have to withstand judicial scrutiny.
On the Majlis’ demand, the Chief Minister said a question in this regard was slated for question hour on Monday and the government would make a note of the concerns of the members on withdrawal of cases against Muslim youth. The CM said the government was prepared to issue a statement on the withdrawal of cases and urged members to allow a discussion on the plight of rain-hit farmers.
“The latest rains have damaged crops in 25 lakh acres and this is much more than in previous calamities,” he pointed out.
