Temperature may touch 30 degrees: Met authorities
HYDERABAD: The gloom and chilly winds, in the last 48 hours in the State capital, have made way to sunshine on Thursday.
The maximum temperature on Thursday, which had touched 23 degrees and 25 degrees respectively in the last two days, recorded by Hyderabad MET department was 29 degrees, which is one degree more than the normal temperature.
Low pressure subsides
With the subsiding of the low pressure, that was formed near Ongole, temperatures across twin cities and other parts of Telangana region are set to attain normalcy in the coming few days. On Thursday, Adilabad recorded the lowest of 11 degrees in the State, MET authorities said.
“Low pressure system during this part of the year is rare. Now that the system has moved away, things will normalise.
Traditionally winter sets-in by December in Telangana but because of the low pressure system, temperature has risen a bit,” Assistant Meteorologist, Hyderabad MET department, R. V. Subba Rao said.
Unusual phenomenon
The weathermen maintained that the unusual phenomenon of formation of low pressure during this part of the year has led to the increased day time temperatures.
“In few days, the north-easterly winds will start gaining strength. This will lead to drop in temperatures in Telangana region,” Mr. Subba Rao added.
The winter in Telangana region will continue till mid February of next year, authorities said.
The cold wave conditions will pick up in Telangana region once the north-easterly winds start gaining strength.
The MET authorities informed that there are chances of temperature touching 30 degrees in the coming 24 hours in Hyderabad.
