Dec. 23: Many ministers invited for the all party meeting like Mr D. Nagender, Mr Mukesh, Mr B. Satyanarayana skipped the meeting. Those who attended the meeting like Mr K. Jana Reddy and Mr Vatti Vasanth Kumar, left mid way.
Sources said the ministers were unhappy with the CMO informing them about the meeting half-an-hour before it was scheduled to start at 11.30 am. The roads and buildings minister, Mr Dharmana Prasada Rao, left the Chief Minister in a tricky situation by proposing that the relatives of farmers who committed suicide should be paid an ex gratia of Rs 1.5 lakh.
“The minister would have made the proposal in a different forum but not before all the Opposition parties. It will only fix the Chief Minister,” another senior minister who attended the meeting said.
Briefing mediapersons about the all party meet, the finance minister, Mr A. Ramanaryana Reddy, also surprised everyone by indirectly pointing out that the CM lacked skill to express himself. When reporters brought to his notice about the TD MLAs taking exception to the CM making fun of their leader’s fast, Mr Ramanarayana Reddy said everyone would not have same skills of expression.
“There might be a misconception among TD leaders because of the language used by the CM but he did not mean to hurt anyone,” the minister said.
Sources said health minister, Mr D.L. Ravindra Reddy, was also unhappy with the CM taking a tough stand on Mr Naidu’s fast.
