Dec. 21: A physical education trainer of the Government Boys and Girls High School, Bhoiguda, allegedly repeatedly raped an orphan girl student and after she got pregnant, threatened that he would throw her into the Musi if she told anyone. According to the police, the physical trainer, Suresh Kumar Goud, 40, had been raping the girl on the school premises for the last one year.
When he noticed that the girl was pregnant a few months ago, he took her to a doctor for an abortion. The incident came to light after a local child rights activist conducted a sting operation and lodged a complaint with the Gandhinagar police. Goud, who grew suspicious, left the school in a hurry, giving a slip to the child right activists.
Members of the Mahila Samakhya and Bala Sangam along with some Communist leaders came to know of the incident around a week back. On Tuesday, they conducted a sting operation but the accused Goud managed to escape after signing the attendance register. Later, someone in the school altered the attendance and marked it as “casual leave”. The school’s headmaster and some of the teaching staff are also missing.
The 14-year-old victim, who is an inmate of an orphanage at Musheerabad, is studying in Class VIII. The orphanage shifted her to another school on November 2 after the incident came to light. Goud is married with three children and stays at Kavadiguda. He used to frequently pick up the victim from the orphanage and drop her at school and had thus befriended her.
