Hyderabad, Jan 12 : Discovery Channel launched its 24-hour Telugu feed on the eve of Makara Sankranti here owing to good response from viewers. The channel had introduced a six-hour Telugu feed in October 2010 and due to an overwhelming response from the viewers in Andhra Pradesh, it has been transformed into a 24-hour feed, a Discovery release said here today.
The channel will now be available in four languages - English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The content and its airing schedule will remain identical for all language feeds, the release said. Announcing the launch Rahul Johri, senior vice president & General Manager, India, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said, "Discovery Channel is committed to present compelling, unique and highest quality programmes from around the world to the viewers in India in the choice of language they prefer.
We are extremely thrilled to be offering Discovery Channel now in four languages - English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
